another formats/tips

As required by my contract…

I would like to express my sincere gratitude…

I wish all of you a prosperous future…

May I take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the future…

a) Dear Mr. Smith [your direct boss],

b) I hereby confirm in writing my resignation from ABC Company because of family reasons.

c) I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thanks for all the support that I have received over the last few weeks, and for the enjoyable experience of having worked for your company.

d) I wish all of you a prosperous future.

Yours sincerely,

[your handwritten signature]

It is now time for me to move on and I have recently accepted a position with another firm. This decision was not an easy one for me and it took a great deal of consideration. However, I am confident that this new role will be a positive step towards fulfilling my career goals.

I wish the company continued success and once again, would like to thank you for allowing me to be a part this great company.

If there is anything I can do help create a smooth transition of responsibilities, please let me know.

Dear Ms. Supervisor:

Therefore, with some regret, I must offer you my resignation, effective December 31, 2001.

Dear Ms. Supervisor:

It is with deep regret that I write this letter of resignation. My mother/father has come to the point in life where she/he is in need of fulltime care. My husband and I have made the decision that we will move my mother/father to our home and that I will be there for her/him. It is something we both feel is right to do.

I felt I needed to tender my resignation, effective December 31, 2001, instead of requesting a leave of absence from XYZ, Inc., because I do not know when I will be able to resume my career. If and when I am available for work again, I hope there will be a possibility of rejoining XYZ, Inc.  My time here truly has been a pleasure. And the people with whom I have worked have been cooperative and helpful.

I wish you and all those associated with XYZ, Inc. continued success.

Sincerely,

I have made the decision to take advantage of the early-retirement option offered by XYZ, Inc. I, therefore, am tendering my resignation, effective December 31, 2001.

Dear Ms. Supervisor:

It is with regret that I inform you of my decision to resign my position as sales representative, effective December 31, 2001. Over the course of my two-week notice period, I will certainly complete any outstanding projects while assisting in the smooth transition of my responsibilities.

I am offering my resignation as Office Manager, effective December 31. As of now, I’m not sure where I’ll be looking for employment and am considering the idea of starting my own business.
